Registration for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA/2FA)

Multi-Factor/Two-Factor authentication (MFA/2FA) adds a second layer of security to your online accounts. MFA/2FA refers to using a smartphone or other device to verify your identity in addition to logging in with your Wayne Health credentials. Verifying your identity using a second factor prevents someone other than you from logging in with your credentials.

Option 1: Setup Green Rocket 2FA Mobile App for push notifications.
  1. Download and install the Green Rocket 2FA Mobile app on your Android or iOS mobile device.
  2. Open Green Rocket 2FA app.
  3. Enter the following information:
    2FA Server
    mfa.med.wayne.edu
    Domain
    med.wayne.edu
    Username
    Your Wayne Health Login ID (ex. JSmith)
    Password

  4. Tap the Register button.
  5. Click Allow when asked "GreenRocket" Would like to send you Notifications.
  6. Create a PIN


Please proceed to Step 2 to test.


How to test MFA/2FA using GreenRocket App


Testing push notifications with MFA/2FA
  1. Click this link 2FA Green Rocket 
  2. Click Test Login
  3. Enter the following information and click Test Login
    Username
    Wayne Health login (ex. JSmith)
    Password

    Leave OTP Blank.

You should receive a notification on your phone from Green Rocket. Upon successful attempt please proceed to Step 3.


Option 2: Setup Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator


Only one of the Authenticators needs to be setup. It is your choice which one.


Setup Microsoft Authenticator

  1. Open Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device. If you do not have the app, here are links Android or iOS mobile device.
  2. Click the + sign in Microsoft Authenticator.
  3. Select Other(Google, Facebook, etc.)
  4. On a computer open a browser.
  5. Click this link to go to 2FA Green Rocket Self-Service Portal
  6. Click Assign a Token button.
  7. Log in with your Wayne Health MED Domain Credentials
  8. Select the Token Type: Authenticator app.
  9. Scan the QR code on the screen with your phone.
  10. Click Proceed.
  11. Enter the OTP.
  12. Click Verify.


Setup Google Authenticator

  1. Download and install the Google Authenticator app on your Android or iOS mobile device.
  2. Open Google Authenticator app on your mobile device.
  3. Click Scan a QR code.
  4. On a computer open a browser.
  5. Click this link to go to 2FA Green Rocket Self-Service Portal
  6. Click Assign a Token button.
  7. Log in with your Wayne Health MED Domain Credentials
  8. Select the Token Type: Authenticator app.
  9. Scan the QR code on the screen with your phone.
  10. Click Proceed.
  11. Enter the OTP.
  12. Click Verify.


How to test MFA/2FA using the OTP with Microsoft or Google Authenticator


Testing OTP authentication using Microsoft Authenticator App or Google Authenticator App
  1. Click this link 2FA Green Rocket 
  2. Click Test Login
  3. Enter the following information:
    Username
    Wayne Health login (ex. JSmith)
    Password

    Enter the 6 digit code from the authenticator app you chose in Step 2.


Once you have completed all the steps above including the testing you have completed the registration.
