Sending and receiving e-faxes

Description:

The article below provides information on sending and receiving e-faxes

Details:

Receiving:

  • All incoming faxes will arrive directly to the Fax Mailbox in Outlook or Athena depending on the number the fax is sent to.

Sending:

You have the capability to send from Outlook as well, but you MUST send from the Shared Mailbox Fax account, not your own. If you send from yourself, it will give an error since the account is not registered with Efaxsend.com.

  1. If you haven’t sent an efax from your email before:

    1. From within Outlook, press the button to write a new email

    2. Click on the “Option” Menu at the top and select the “From” field to enable the ability to change who they are sending the email from.

    3. Click on the new “From” field that is located above your “To…” field.

    4. If you don’t see the shared email address, then click on “Other Email Address”

    5. Click on the From button to bring up an address book search.

    6. Type part of the name in the search and select the appropriate address, then click OK.

    7. Click OK again.

    8. Note that the from field will now display the shared address instead of your email address.

  2. If you have setup the From field prior, just use the dropdown to change the “from” to the Shared address instead of yourself.

  3. Once you have the correct FROM address set, attach the PDF file you want to fax and enter the area code plus phone number @efaxsend.com into the “to” field. Remember to not add 1, 9, or any other number before the area code and to add the @efaxsend.com to the end of the phone number.

  4. NOTE – Any information that is in the email will display in the fax, so be aware of any signatures. If forwarding a message, note that any previous information in the email that you see will be included.

  5. Attach a PDF file and leave the Subject line blank

  6. Hit Send

Note:

If you do not have access to the shared fax mailbox you will need to have your direct supervisor reach out to the Wayne Health helpdesk at whhelpdesk@med.wayne.edu requesting you get access.
