Installing 123Net Softphone on Apple Devices

Description:

The following instructions detail how to install the softphone application from 123Net on an Apple based device.

NOTE: The use of this software requires a softphone account provided by WSUPG IT. Please contact the WSUPG IT Helpdesk at 313-448-9999 if you are unsure if you have a softphone account.


Instructions:

  1. Open the App store
  2. Click on Search and type in 123Net


  3. Click on the 123Net Softphone
  4. Select “Get” or the “Download” button next to the icon.



  5. Once Downloaded, click on “Open”



  6. Enter the credentials provided to you.



  7. Click to enable “Keep Password”
  8. Click Login
  9. If prompted, Click Allow for notifications.



  10. If you have Face ID enabled on your device, select “Continue” to allow Face ID to be used instead of typing the password next time.



  11. Click “Notice” if the E911 windows pops up.



  12. Make and receive phone calls using the app to call from the assigned phone number. All incoming calls can be answered similar to normal phone calls but the Softphone app will appear instead of the normal phone dialer.
  13. TO LOGOUT: Click on Settings button on bottom and click “Logout” on the top right.



  14. NOTE: If you open your recent apps and exit the Softphone app (swipe it away), it will close it in the background. Do not close the app or it will shut down the softphone services and you won’t receive phone calls.
