Installing 123Net Softphone on Android Devices

Description:

The following instructions detail how to install the softphone application from 123Net on an Android based device.

NOTE: The use of this software requires a softphone account provided by WSUPG IT. Please contact the WSUPG IT Helpdesk at 313-448-9999 if you are unsure if you have a softphone account.


Instructions:

NOTE: Screenshots were captured on a tablet, not a phone. The application might look slightly different on a phone.

  1. Open the Google Play Store
  2. In  the search field, type in “123net” and click on the 123Net Softphone







  3. Click on the 123Net Softphone App







  4. Click on Install







  5. Once installed, click on Open







  6. On the phone permissions, click on “Show”
  7. Click Allow







  8. Click Accept for License agreement







  9. Battery Optimization: Click Show and then Allow





  10. Click on Show for Call heads:





  11. Click to Enable the setting





  12. Click on the back button to return to the app.
  13. Microphone permission: Click on Show and Allow





  14. Enter the credentials provided to you and select the circle to enable it to keep the password. Then click Login.





  15. If prompted for an E911 warning, just click OK
  16. If it prompts about requesting permissions for contacts, click on “Request Permission” and click allow.





  17. You can use the dialer to make phone calls using the softphone instead of your normal dialer. This will dial out using the work number versus your personal number. Incoming phone calls will open this app and you can answer it like a normal phone call.

  18. To logout when not in use, click on the three dots in the top and select Exit. This will log you out and close the app.
