How to reset your Wayne Health Domain Password

This article describes how to perform a password reset for your MED Account. This includes instructions for changing an existing password that is already known, and for resetting an unknown password.

Note:

Changing your Wayne Health Domain password does not effect your WSU Access ID password on campus or your DMC Citrix password.

Steps for Resetting an Existing Password:

• Changing your Wayne Health Domain Password while on a Wayne Health Machine:
  1. Hit the Ctrl, Alt, and Delete keys on your keyboard at the same time.
  2. Select "Change a password"
     
     
     
     
  3. Enter the domain and your username in the first field. Ex. "MED\JohnDoe"
  4. Type your current password into the field labeled "Old Password"
  5. Once you have successfully completed all four text boxes, select the blue arrow. Your new password has been successfully changed.
• Changing your Wayne Health Domain password while not on a Wayne Health Machine
  1. Open a web browser and navigate to directory.med.wayne.edu
  2. In the Search by Name field, search type your first and/or last name and press Search
     
     
     
     
  3. Locate your name on the results page and click on it to open the details
  4. Select View or edit entire entry (login) and log in with your MED ID and current password
  5. If you select View or edit entire entry (login) and login successfully, you will see a number of options. The one you'll want to click on is Change Password.
     
     
     
  6. You will be taken to a new window to change your password. In the Domain\user name field you will need MED\ before your user name as follows.
     
     
     
  7. The new password will need to be at least 8 characters long and include the following: a capital letter, a lowercase letter, a number, and a special character. If done properly, after hitting Submit, you will receive a message saying your password has been changed successfully.

Steps for Resetting a Forgotten Password:

1. Open a web browser and navigate to https://directory.med.wayne.edu
2. In the Search by Name field, search type your first and/or last name and press Search
   
   
   
   
3. Locate your name on the results page and click on it to open the details.
4. Make a note of the email address shown on this page, you will need access to the listed email in order to finish the password reset process.
5. Select the Forgot Password button.
   
   
   
   
   
6. After hitting Forgot Password you will be taken to a verification page with a text image that you will have to type out from left to right. Once done, hit Send Password Reset Email.

   
   

   
   
   
7. If done successfully, you will see a message saying a Password Reset Email as been sent to you. Wait for the email to arrive to the email address listed on the Directory page in step 4 above.
8. Once you receive the email, follow the link in it and it will take you to the following page
   
   
   
   
9. You will need to follow the Password rules when creating and confirming a new password. If done properly, after hitting Change Now, you will see a message saying that your password has been successfully changed.
